Shivr is the dating app where your voice is the first impression. Record thirty seconds; swipe on how someone sounds — their laugh, the pause before a thought, the small details a photo never carries. When you both like each other's voice, a chat opens. Photos unlock only when you both say yes.
Answer a daily prompt with a thirty-second voice memo. No filters, no retouches — just you, sounding like you.
Browse the Discover stack and swipe based on how someone sounds. No photos visible yet. Personality first.
When you both like each other's voice, a chat opens. Send a voice note or a letter; voice notes play twice and then they're gone.
Photos remain sealed until both of you tap to unseal. By then you already know who you've been talking to.
Most dating apps reduce people to a single still photo. Shivr doesn't. The voice carries more — pace, warmth, hesitation, humour — and it's much harder to fake. You hear who someone is before you decide whether you want to keep listening.
We also believe that intimacy has a shape. Two voices, then two faces, in that order. The whole product is built around that sequence.
Is Shivr free? Yes. Free for everyone during launch. No in-app purchases.
Who can use it? Anyone 18 or older with an iPhone running iOS 16 or later. Apple Sign In and Google Sign In supported.
Where do my voice notes go after they're played? Voice messages between matched users play twice and then the audio is deleted from our servers. Any voice note that isn't played in 30 days is also deleted. See the Privacy Policy for the full retention rules.
How do I report someone? Tap the "···" menu inside any chat → Report. Verified reports are acted on within 24 hours.
How do I delete my account? Self tab → Settings → "Delete account" — or email [email protected].
Press, partnership, or anything else: [email protected].
