My child can't hear the letter sounds. What should I check?

Make sure the device is not muted and the ringer volume is up. iOS controls app audio with the ringer switch for short sounds. Try restarting the app and, if the issue persists, restart the device.

The microphone isn't picking up my child's voice.

In the iOS Settings app, open Settings → ReadBorn Beginners and make sure Microphone and Speech Recognition are both enabled. Speech recognition runs on-device, so no internet connection is required.

I was charged but don't have Premium. How do I restore my subscription?

Open the app, go to Settings, and tap "Restore Purchases." Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID that made the original purchase. If the issue persists, email us at [email protected] with your Apple receipt.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open the iOS Settings app, tap your name at the top, choose Subscriptions, select ReadBorn Beginners, and tap Cancel Subscription. You can also cancel from apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.

How do I request a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple ID used to purchase. Select the purchase and choose "Request a refund."

The AR camera view is blank or shows an error.

Check Settings → ReadBorn Beginners and make sure Camera access is enabled. The camera is used only for the hatching moment and is never recorded, saved, or uploaded. If the camera is enabled but still not working, restart the app.

How do I reset my child's progress?

In the app, open Settings and tap "Reset Progress." A parent math gate will appear to confirm. All reading progress and collected creatures will be cleared. This cannot be undone.

Does the app work offline?

Yes. Stories, creatures, and on-device speech recognition all work without an internet connection. An internet connection is only needed for the initial download, subscription purchase, and Restore Purchases.

What ages is ReadBorn Beginners for?

ReadBorn Beginners is designed for children ages 4–6 who are just starting to learn to read. It focuses on letter-by-letter phonics and the 92 Dolch Pre-Primer and Primer sight words.

How is my child's data handled?

Reading progress is stored only on the device. Voice is processed on-device with Apple's Speech framework and is never uploaded. See our Privacy Policy for details.
