ReadBeam — Terms of Use

Last updated: May 5, 2026

Apple Standard EULA

ReadBeam is licensed under Apple's Standard End-User License Agreement (EULA). By downloading or using ReadBeam, you agree to its terms. You can read the full agreement here: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

1. Subscriptions

ReadBeam is free to install and use with a basic voice (Sunny). Premium voices (Luna, Atlas) and unlimited scanning require an auto-renewable subscription processed through the Apple App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel anytime in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, and your subscription remains active until the end of the paid period. Family Sharing is supported — when enabled, members of your Family Sharing group share the same subscription.

2. AI-Generated Audio

All three voices in ReadBeam (Sunny, Luna, and Atlas) are synthesized using Google Cloud Text-to-Speech. Audio is generated in response to text recognized from the pages you scan, and your use of generated audio is also subject to Google Cloud's Service Specific Terms. ReadBeam does not claim ownership over the audio synthesized for your personal or classroom use, and you do not need to credit Google or AI Conveyor Inc. when playing the audio in a personal or classroom context. Commercial redistribution of the synthesized audio is not permitted.

Apple's on-device speech synthesizer is used as a silent fallback only when the Google Cloud request fails.

3. Acceptable Use

ReadBeam is intended for personal and classroom use to read books aloud to children. You agree not to use ReadBeam to commercially redistribute, publish, or resell scanned content from copyrighted books. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to scan and share any material you put into the app. ReadBeam is a tool for read-aloud assistance, not a publishing platform.

Parents and teachers are responsible for ensuring that any material scanned into ReadBeam is age-appropriate for the children who will hear it. ReadBeam does not screen scanned content.

4. Refunds

Refund requests for subscriptions are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, and select the ReadBeam subscription.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

ReadBeam is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AI Conveyor Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of ReadBeam, including but not limited to errors in optical character recognition, mispronunciations by the text-to-speech engine, or temporary unavailability of premium voices.

7. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when changes were last made. Continued use of ReadBeam after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
